Must-Have Technical Skills1. Software Engineering & Python
- Expert-level Python (clean, structured, type-annotated code)
- Strong testing practices (pytest, meaningful coverage)
- Solid CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design)
- Git proficiency and disciplined code reviews
2. Databases & Data Modeling
- Advanced SQL and relational database design
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL
- ORM experience (SQLAlchemy preferred)
- Schema migrations (Alembic or similar)
- Accurate handling of financial/numerical data (Decimal/Numeric only)
3. Data Pipelines & Systems
- Build reproducible, idempotent ETL/ELT pipelines
- Strong data lineage and traceability mindset
- Experience with large datasets and incremental processing
- Append-only and point-in-time data modeling
