Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Ownership & Chaos Control
- Establish the Master Production Schedule (MPS): Convert highly dynamic customer forecasts (from major OEMs) into concrete, realistic daily and weekly production plans.
- Bring Order to the Floor: Walk the shop floor daily. Identify bottlenecks, tackle material shortages, and restructure raw production schedules into a predictable, disciplined flow.
- Enforce Ownership: Take absolute responsibility for meeting dispatch timelines. When a machine breaks down or a material shipment is delayed, own the mitigation plan rather than just reporting the failure.
2. Material Requirement Planning (MRP) & Bill of Materials (BOM) Control
- BOM Accuracy: Collaborate with the New Product Development (NPD) and Engineering teams to ensure 100% accurate BOMs for custom wire harnesses (ranging from simple LV to complex HV EV harnesses).
- Inventory Control & Shortage Mitigation: Work closely with Procurement to track incoming raw materials (connectors, terminals, sleeves, wires) against production schedules. Minimize both dead stock and production line stoppages.
- WIP Management: Monitor and control Work-In-Progress (WIP) inventory across cutting, crimping, sub-assembly, assembly board, and final testing stages.
3. Capacity & Resource Planning
- Optimize the utilization of automatic cutting & stripping machines, applicator tooling, semi-automatic crimping presses, and manual assembly boards.
- Balance workforce allocation based on product complexity and daily volume targets.
4. Data-Driven Systems & Reporting
- Move the shop floor away from verbal commitments to data-driven performance.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Plan vs. Actual (Adherence), OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and OTIF (On-Time In-Full).
- Standardize and automate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Production/Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 3–6 years of hands-on PPC experience specifically in a wire harness manufacturing plant (automotive or industrial).
- Core Competencies:
- Deep understanding of wire harness production flow (Cutting $\rightarrow$ Crimping $\rightarrow$ Sub-assembly $\rightarrow$ Assembly Board/Formboard $\rightarrow$ Testing $\rightarrow$ Packing).
- Exceptional proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (experience with advanced automation or ERP systems is a major plus).
- Strong knowledge of inventory control techniques (Min-Max levels, EOQ, Kanban).
- Soft Skills:
- Extreme Ownership: A proactive "get-it-done" attitude with zero tolerance for excuses.
- Strong Communication & Assertiveness: Ability to influence and coordinate with multiple stakeholders—from floor supervisors to purchasing managers and executive directors.
- High stress tolerance and adaptability to handle rapid changes in OEM priorities.
