Job Title: NPD Engineer (New Product Development Engineer)

Reports To: NPD Manager / Engineering Manager / Plant Head
Job Summary
The NPD Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing new products from concept to mass production. The role involves design coordination, process development, cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring products meet quality, cost, and timeline targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new products as per customer requirements, specifications, and drawings
- Coordinate with design, production, quality, tooling, and purchase teams during NPD stages
- Prepare feasibility studies, DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and control plans
- Design and validate tooling, dies, fixtures, and gauges
- Conduct trials, testing, and validation of new products and processes
- Ensure smooth transition from development to mass production
- Monitor cost, quality, and delivery targets for new products
- Support customer audits, technical discussions, and change management
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction
- Maintain NPD documentation, SOPs, and engineering records
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of product development lifecycle
- Understanding of die casting / machining / manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC
- Knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD / SolidWorks / CATIA – preferred)
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
Educational Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Automobile Engineering
Experience
2 to 6 years of experience in New Product Development (Manufacturing Industry)
Experience in automotive / die casting / engineering components preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹27,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
