Are you an experienced journalist with a passion for long-form storytelling, in-depth research, interviews, and feature writing? Education Post is looking for a talented and driven Senior Correspondent to join our magazine editorial team.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, report, and write in-depth feature stories, profiles, interviews, and analytical articles for the magazine.
- Develop original story ideas around education, higher education, policy, leadership, innovation, technology, research, and emerging trends.
- Conduct insightful interviews with education leaders, policymakers, academicians, researchers, industry experts, entrepreneurs, and other key stakeholders.
- Produce compelling cover stories, special features, profiles, and exclusive interviews.
- Undertake extensive research, background checks, and fact verification to ensure accuracy and editorial credibility.
- Build and maintain a strong network of sources across the education and allied sectors.
- Transform complex subjects and developments into engaging, reader-friendly narratives.
- Collaborate with editors, designers, photographers, and digital teams to develop magazine stories from concept to publication.
- Identify emerging trends, personalities, institutions, and ideas that can become strong editorial stories.
- Ensure all content meets the publication’s editorial standards, tone, quality, and deadlines.
- Contribute story ideas and content for special editions, thematic issues, rankings, and editorial projects.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in journalism, magazine publishing, feature writing, or editorial content.
- Excellent command of English with strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
- Proven ability to write long-form features, interviews, profiles, and analytical pieces.
- Strong research, reporting, fact-checking, and interviewing skills.
- Ability to develop original story ideas and identify compelling angles.
- Strong understanding of journalism ethics and editorial standards.
- A good understanding of the Indian education and higher education ecosystem will be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a deadline-driven editorial environment.
- Willingness to travel for interviews, events, and reporting assignments when required.
