2. Job Purpose
To supervise and control the day-to-day packing operations of snacks/Namkeen products, ensuring production targets, product quality, packing accuracy, hygiene, food safety, manpower utilization, and timely dispatch are achieved as per company standards.
3. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Packing Operations
- Supervise daily packing activities for snacks/Namkeen products.
- Ensure packing is carried out according to the approved production plan.
- Monitor packing machines and ensure smooth operation.
- Ensure correct packing material, product, batch number, MRP, manufacturing date and expiry/best-before details are used.
- Monitor packing weights and ensure the correct quantity is packed.
- Minimize product wastage, spillage and packing material wastage.
- Ensure proper sealing and packing quality.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Stores and Maintenance departments for smooth operations.
B. Manpower Management
- Allocate manpower to different packing lines/workstations.
- Monitor attendance and work allocation of packing workers.
- Ensure optimum utilization of manpower.
- Train workers on packing procedures, hygiene and safety requirements.
- Monitor worker performance and discipline.
- Ensure workers follow proper PPE and uniform requirements.
C. Quality & Food Safety
- Ensure packing is carried out as per approved SOPs and quality standards.
- Check product appearance, packing condition, sealing and weight at regular intervals.
- Ensure there is no contamination or foreign material during packing.
- Maintain proper personal hygiene and ensure workers follow hygiene practices.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for quality checks and corrective actions.
- Ensure proper line clearance before starting a new product/batch.
- Prevent product mix-ups and incorrect labeling.
D. Production Planning & Target Achievement
- Follow the daily/shift-wise packing production plan.
- Ensure packing targets are achieved within the planned time.
- Monitor line efficiency and downtime.
- Immediately report production delays, machine breakdowns or manpower shortages to the concerned manager.
- Coordinate with the Production Team for continuous product availability to the packing line.
E. Machine & Equipment Monitoring
- Monitor the functioning of packing machines and related equipment.
- Ensure machines are operated safely and correctly.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure proper cleaning of machines and packing areas after production.
- Report abnormal machine sounds, leakage, sealing problems or other issues immediately.
F. Material Control
- Coordinate with Stores for timely availability of:
- Packing materials
- Pouches
- Labels
- Cartons
- Nitrogen/gas supply, wherever applicable
- Coding/printing materials
- Ensure proper utilization and control of packing materials.
- Maintain records of material issued, used and returned.
- Ensure unused materials are properly stored after production.
G. Documentation & Records
Maintain and update required production and packing records, including:
- Daily packing production report
- Shift-wise production report
- Packing material consumption report
- Product wastage report
- Rejection report
- Machine downtime report
- Manpower deployment report
- Weight-check records
- Batch/lot details
- Cleaning and sanitation records
- Line clearance records
- Any other records required by the company/QC department
H. Hygiene, Safety & 5S
- Ensure the packing area is clean and hygienic at all times.
- Ensure workers use required PPE such as hairnets, gloves, masks, safety shoes, etc.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Ensure no unauthorized food, personal belongings or prohibited items are brought into the production/packing area.
- Follow all factory safety rules and immediately report unsafe conditions.
- Ensure emergency and fire safety procedures are followed.

5. Required Qualifications
- Education: Diploma / ITI / Any Graduate.
- Qualification in Food Technology / Production / Mechanical / related field will be an advantage.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in snacks, Namkeen, FMCG, food processing or packaging industry.
- Candidates with experience in automatic/semi-automatic packing machines will be preferred.

8. Authority & Accountability
The Packing Supervisor is responsible for the overall performance of the assigned packing line/area, including manpower deployment, packing output, product quality, material utilization, hygiene, safety and proper documentation.
Any major deviation relating to quality, food safety, machine breakdown, product mix-up, packing material shortage or safety must be immediately escalated to the Production Manager / Plant Manager.
9. Working Conditions
- Work in a food/snacks manufacturing and packing environment.
- Shift-based working as per production requirements.
- Required to stand and monitor packing operations for extended periods.
- Must strictly follow factory hygiene, safety and PPE requirements.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
