The responsibilities of a BOP Purchase Engineer in the autoparts manufacturing industry include sourcing quality components and services, vendor development, negotiation, inventory coordination, and ensuring timely delivery to support production deadlines. They are responsible for procuring raw materials, fabricated parts, bought-out items, and electrical/instrumentation components as per engineering BOM. They identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors for mechanical, electrical, and automation parts. They float RFQs, analyze quotations, and negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines. They coordinate with design, planning, and stores teams to ensure timely availability of materials. They track and manage purchase orders, follow up with vendors for dispatches, and handle logistics coordination. They maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance. They evaluate supplier quality and performance for cost, quality, and service consistency. They support cost reduction initiatives by identifying alternate suppliers or components. They ensure procurement compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards. They participate in regular production meetings to stay aligned with manufacturing priorities.
