An Area Sales Executive in FMCG drives product sales, distribution, and brand visibility within a assigned territory by managing relationships with wholesalers and retailers. Key responsibilities include achieving monthly sales targets, ensuring product placement, identifying new clients, and analyzing market trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Targets: Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume and value targets.
- Relationship Management: Maintain and build strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retail store owners.
- Market Development: Expand the customer base by identifying and onboarding new retail outlets.
- Merchandising: Ensure products are well-displayed on shelves, utilizing merchandising materials (POSM) to increase visibility.
- Distributor Management: Manage stock levels at the distributor point to prevent stock-outs or overstocking, and ensure timely dispatches.
- Reporting: Track sales performance, monitor competitor activities, and submit regular market feedback reports.
- New Product Launch: Drive the distribution and launch of new products (NPD) across the territory.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Graduate
- Experience: 3–5 years of sales experience in FMCG, consumer durables, or similar industries.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
- Technical: Proficiency in MS Office and sales reporting software
