We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Chef de Partie (CDP) for our Bakery section. The CDP Bakery will be responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of the bakery and pastry production, ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation. This role requires a creative individual with strong technical skills in baking, pastry, and dessert preparation, as well as the ability to lead and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Oversee the daily operations of the bakery section, ensuring all production targets are met efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Prepare and bake a wide variety of breads, pastries, cakes, desserts, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Develop new and innovative bakery and pastry recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends, to enhance the menu offerings.
- Manage inventory for the bakery section, including ordering ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste to maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure strict adherence to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in the bakery area, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of food items.
- Train, supervise, and mentor junior bakers and pastry assistants, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Monitor the quality and presentation of all baked goods before they are served or displayed, making necessary adjustments to ensure perfection.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen sections and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
- Assist in menu planning and costing for the bakery and pastry items.
- Handle special requests and custom orders for baked goods as required.
