Job Summary
The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring fabrication and production activities to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and customer requirements. The role focuses on improving productivity, minimizing production costs, reducing waste, and ensuring timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule fabrication activities based on production requirements.
- Monitor daily production to ensure targets are achieved.
- Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, quality, and maintenance teams for smooth production flow.
- Optimize manpower, machines, materials, and production resources.
- Ensure fabrication processes such as cutting, bending, welding, machining, and assembly are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor production efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and inspection requirements.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor machine utilization and coordinate preventive maintenance activities.
- Prepare and maintain production reports, productivity data, and KPI dashboards.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
- Train and guide production operators and supervisors on best manufacturing practices.
- Support new product development and process validation activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 2–8 years of experience in a fabrication or heavy engineering manufacturing environment.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication, structural fabrication, or industrial equipment manufacturing is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including welding, cutting, machining, bending, and assembly.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and fabrication blueprints.
- Knowledge of production planning and scheduling.
- Understanding of quality management systems and inspection procedures.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and team coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or other engineering software is an added advantage.

Working Conditions

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
