JOB DESCRIPTION – PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
Position: Physical Education Teacher / PE Facilitator

Reporting To: Academic Coordinator / Head of School
Job Purpose
The Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate physical education programmes that develop students’ physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship and overall well-being. The teacher will promote active participation and help students develop lifelong healthy lifestyle habits.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured PE lessons aligned with the school curriculum and learning objectives.
- Teach fundamental movement skills, fitness, athletics, team sports and individual sports appropriate to students’ age and ability.
- Develop students’ physical literacy, coordination, agility, strength, endurance and flexibility.
- Encourage teamwork, leadership, discipline, sportsmanship and fair play.
- Differentiate activities to accommodate varying levels of physical ability and individual needs.
- Assess and document students’ progress in physical education.
- Maintain appropriate lesson plans, assessment records and student performance reports.
- Organise and conduct inter-house, inter-school and intra-school sporting activities.
- Identify and nurture students with talent and interest in competitive sports.
- Train and prepare students for sports competitions and athletic events.
- Ensure proper warm-up, cool-down and safe use of sports equipment and facilities.
- Maintain appropriate supervision of students during PE classes, practices and sporting events.
- Ensure compliance with school safeguarding, health and safety procedures.
- Maintain sports equipment and report damaged, missing or unsafe equipment promptly.
- Collaborate with class teachers, coordinators and school leadership to support students’ overall development.
- Support school events, sports days, camps and extracurricular activities.
- Promote healthy lifestyle practices, fitness awareness and personal well-being among students.
- Maintain professional communication with parents regarding students’ participation and progress where required.
Curriculum Responsibilities
- Develop PE schemes of work and lesson plans in line with Cambridge/international curriculum expectations.
- Integrate inquiry, reflection, collaboration and skill development into PE lessons.
- Use appropriate assessment strategies to monitor physical and personal development.
- Incorporate technology and appropriate resources to enhance learning where relevant.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education / Sports Science / related field.
- B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed. or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
- Recognised teaching qualification such as B.Ed. is desirable.
- Certification in first aid/CPR is an advantage.
- Experience with Cambridge or international curriculum is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in a school environment preferred.
- Experience working with primary and/or secondary school students.
- Experience in coaching or organising school-level sports competitions will be an advantage.
- Candidates with international-school or Cambridge curriculum experience will be preferred.

Pay: ₹11,516.17 - ₹34,753.73 per month
