About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Corporate Lawyer to join our organisation as In-House Counsel. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad range of corporate legal matters, including drafting and vetting contracts, issuing and responding to legal notices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing sound legal advice to internal stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive legal professional to play a key role in safeguarding the organisation's legal interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and vet a wide range of commercial contracts, agreements, MOUs, and NDAs to protect the organisation's interests.
- Draft, issue, and respond to legal notices on behalf of the organisation, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable law.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to internal departments and senior management on corporate, contractual, and regulatory matters.
- Conduct legal research and risk assessment to support business decisions and transactions.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with corporate laws, statutory regulations, and industry-specific requirements.
- Liaise with external counsel, government authorities, and regulatory bodies as required.
- Manage documentation and correspondence related to litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters, coordinating with external counsel where necessary.
- Assist in corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, compliance filings, and statutory records.
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise the organisation on necessary action.
- Maintain organised records of contracts, notices, and legal correspondence.
Key Requirements
- LL.B. / LL.M. degree from a recognised university; enrolled with the Bar Council of India (or applicable jurisdiction).
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in corporate law, preferably including in-house counsel experience or experience at a reputed law firm.
- Strong hands-on experience in drafting and vetting commercial contracts and legal notices.
- Sound knowledge of corporate, contract, and commercial law, along with relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working as in-house counsel within a corporate or law firm setting.
- Familiarity with sector-specific regulatory compliance relevant to the organisation's business.
- Working knowledge of litigation management and coordination with external legal counsel.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
