Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to oversee and manage the organization's financial accounting functions while ensuring full compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, managing taxation, supporting audits, and providing financial insights that contribute to strategic business decisions.
The ideal candidate must possess strong experience in corporate accounting and demonstrate practical knowledge of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Value Added Tax (VAT) and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) VAT regulations. Experience working with GCC-based organizations, multi-entity accounting environments, and ERP accounting systems will be considered a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
* Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting principles and company policies.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and supporting schedules.
* Perform general ledger maintenance and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.
* Prepare month-end and year-end closing entries, including accruals, provisions, depreciation, and journal entries.
* Monitor financial performance and provide regular management reports with meaningful financial analysis.
Accounts Management
* Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
* Review supplier invoices and customer payments for accuracy.
* Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate timely collections.
* Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile all balance sheet accounts regularly.
* Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Taxation & GCC VAT Compliance
* Ensure compliance with UAE VAT and Saudi Arabia VAT laws and regulations.
* Prepare VAT calculations, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
* Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns within statutory deadlines.
* Monitor VAT transactions to ensure proper tax treatment and documentation.
* Coordinate with external tax consultants and auditors during tax reviews and assessments.
* Stay updated with changes in GCC tax regulations and recommend process improvements where necessary.
Budgeting & Financial Planning
* Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
* Monitor actual performance against budgets and identify significant variances.
* Support management with financial planning and cost-control initiatives.
* Prepare cash flow projections and monitor working capital requirements.
Audit & Compliance
* Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
* Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and corporate governance policies.
* Maintain proper accounting records and documentation for statutory and regulatory purposes.
* Identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions where appropriate.
Financial Controls & Process Improvement
* Review existing accounting processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
* Support the implementation and optimization of accounting software and ERP systems.
* Develop standardized financial procedures and documentation.
* Assist in strengthening internal control systems and risk management practices.
Stakeholder Coordination
* Liaise with banks, auditors, tax consultants, government authorities, suppliers, and clients on financial matters.
* Provide financial support to management and other departments when required.
* Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support business decisions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or an equivalent discipline.
* Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CMA, CPA, ACA, or equivalent will be highly preferred.
Experience Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting.
* Proven experience in corporate accounting and financial reporting.
* Hands-on experience with UAE VAT and Saudi Arabia VAT compliance is mandatory.
* Experience in GCC-based organizations or multinational companies is preferred.
* Experience using ERP or accounting software in a professional environment.
Technical Skills
* Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Excellent knowledge of UAE VAT and Saudi Arabia VAT regulations.
* Experience with ERP and accounting software such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally, or similar systems.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial formulas, and data analysis.
* Strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills.
