Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities • Manage and coordinate Fortna’s international logistics activity in support of projects, sourcing, and operational requirements • Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to move international shipments efficiently • Monitor shipment status and provide regular visibility updates, including issue escalation when shipments are delayed or at risk • Review, prepare, organize, and route international shipping documentation, including import/export paperwork and supporting documents • Support import and export compliance requirements, including documentation accuracy, document retention, and process discipline • Assist with tariff classification support and documentation review to help ensure correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule application and reduce unnecessary duty exposure • Help manage freight under designated shipping terms and support initiatives to improve routing control and reduce double-markups on international freight • Coordinate import and export logistics activity to support delivery timelines for U.S. and international business needs • Serve as a key point of contact for international shipment execution, operational issue resolution, and document follow-up • Help standardize international shipping processes and support development of trade compliance and logistics procedures • Maintain shipment records, logistics reports, and compliance documentation in the appropriate systems and file structures • Work cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, project teams, finance, and trade compliance stakeholders to support international movement of goods • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to freight cost, transit execution, tariff management, and international shipment controls
Work Experience
Required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in international logistics, global freight operations, import/export coordination, customs brokerage support, freight forwarding, or a related supply chain function • Strong working knowledge of international shipping documentation and freight movement processes • Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and carriers FORTNA | Job Description Page 2 • Familiarity with U.S. import processes, customs clearance requirements, and import/export compliance support • Experience reviewing commercial documents for accuracy, including shipping and customs-related paperwork • Strong understanding of global shipment tracking, freight execution, and transportation coordination • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Strong communication skills and ability to work across internal and external stakeholders • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics-related systems or transportation tools Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting manufacturing, automation, project logistics, capital equipment, or industrial supply chains • Experience supporting tariff classification review and documentation quality for U.S. imports • Experience developing or improving logistics and trade compliance processes • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems, shipment visibility tools, and document control workflows • Experience supporting operations across multiple countries and time zones
