Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Service Engineer to join our Windmill Operation and Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of electrical and mechanical systems and must be comfortable working at heights. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbines to ensure maximum availability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of wind turbines.
- Perform mechanical and electrical inspections to identify potential issues.
- Assist in repair, replacement, and testing of wind turbine components.
- Climb wind turbine towers (up to 50 meters) using certified safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, reports, and checklists.
- Adhere to all safety standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Coordinate with the control room and site engineers for daily tasks and updates.
- Support in installation and commissioning of new turbines when required.
- Ensure tools and equipment are in safe and working condition.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulics.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use diagnostic tools.
- Comfortable with working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Physically fit, with no fear of heights or confined spaces.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to travel to remote wind farm locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in wind turbine maintenance or similar field is a plus.
- Certification in working at heights or tower rescue training is an advantage.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and remote monitoring tools is a bonus.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor and field-based role at wind farm locations.
- Requires climbing towers and occasional long working hours during emergency repairs.
