Roles & Responsibilities –
DRO Lathe Operator Core Duties
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job cards to determine dimensions, tolerances, and finish requirements
- Set up work-piece on the lathe (chuck, faceplate, or centers) and align it accurately
- Select, fit, and adjust cutting tools based on material and operation
- Operate the Digital Readout (DRO) system to set reference points (zero) and track precise X/Z axis positions during machining
- Perform turning operations: facing, taper turning, threading, boring, knurling, parting, and grooving
- Select correct speed, feed, and depth of cut for the material being machined Quality & Precision Measure finished components using micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, and thread gauges
- Verify dimensions against DRO readings and drawing tolerances throughout the job
- Identify and correct deviations before they result in scrap Machine Care Perform routine maintenance: lubrication, cleaning, coolant checks Inspect tooling for wear and replace/sharpen as needed Report machine faults or abnormal sounds/vibrations to maintenance/superviso Safety & Compliance
- Follow PPE requirements (safety glasses, gloves where applicable, no loose clothing)
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lockout/tagout when required
- Keep the work area clean and organized (5S practices)
Documentation Maintain production logs, job cards, and quality inspection records Report production quantities and downtime to supervisor
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
