- Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Azure-based database architecture to support scalable and high-performing applications.
- Architect solutions using Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Data Factory.
- Define database standards, governance, security, and best practices for cloud data platforms.
- Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and resource management.
- Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies in Azure.
- Collaborate with application developers, DevOps teams, and data engineers to design efficient data models.
- Manage data migration from on-premises databases to Azure cloud environments.
- Ensure compliance with data security standards and policies.
- Monitor database health, performance, and capacity planning using Azure monitoring tools.
- Automate database deployment and management using CICD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code IaC.

- Required Skills Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8 years of experience in database architecture and administration.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure database services.
- Expertise in Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning, indexing strategies, and database optimization.
- Experience with data migration strategies and tools.
- Understanding of cloud security, compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Experience working with large-scale distributed systems and high-volume data environments.
- Preferred Skills
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Database Administrator.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CICD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Familiarity with Python, PowerShell, or scripting for automation.
- Experience with data warehousing and analytics solutions.
