About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in 2D and 3D design to join our engineering/design team at our Perungudi, Chennai office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate technical drawings, models, and layouts that support mechanical and piping designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, modify, and review detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD.
- Convert design concepts and rough sketches into precise, scaled technical drawings.
- Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to ensure drawings meet project specifications and standards.
- Perform revisions and updates to drawings based on feedback from engineers/clients.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry codes, company standards, and quality guidelines.
- Maintain proper documentation, drawing registers, and version control of all design files.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (mechanical/civil/structural/electrical, as applicable) for design integration.
- Conduct basic quantity take-offs, measurements, and material specifications as required.
- Assist senior engineers/designers in project documentation and technical reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 2–3 years of proven experience in 2D and 3D design using AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, GD&T, and drafting principles.
- Working knowledge of additional design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Revit, SketchUp, or Plant 3D) is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of manufacturing/construction processes relevant to the industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawing preparation.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into precise drawings.
- Good communication and coordination skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred (Good to Have)
- AutoCAD certification.
- Experience with BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks) or PLM systems.
- Exposure to industry-specific design (structural steel, MEP, plant layout, mechanical design, etc.)
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
