The Black Steel is a premium decorative lighting consultancy and manufacturer based in New Delhi, with a 10-year operating history, 300+ designs, and installations across 18 countries. The business operates at the intersection of bespoke design consultation and catalog-based manufacturing, serving high-end homeowners, interior designers, architects, and HORECA clients.
POSITION SUMMARY
Studio conversion rates are consistently strong, indicating that the product and consultative sales process are effective once a qualified client is engaged. The principal constraint on revenue growth is upstream of this: lead generation, trade account development, and disciplined follow-through on existing pipeline and receivables. This role is accountable for that full pipeline — from first contact through to invoicing — and for executing the brand's ongoing marketing initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Trade & B2B Account Management
- Manage and expand relationships with existing trade and designer partner accounts.
- Identify, pitch, and onboard new designer, architect, and HORECA partners using the company's established partnership framework.
- Monitor outstanding estimates, accepted orders, and accounts receivable; drive timely follow-up and collection in coordination with the finance function.
- Convert showroom walk-ins and inbound digital enquiries into scheduled consultations, with all activity tracked in the CRM.
Demand Generation
- Plan and execute paid social campaigns (Meta) targeting the company's core homeowner demographic, owning the enquiry funnel from ad to consultation booking.
- Maintain a consistent cadence of organic content, particularly video, in line with the brand's content strategy.
- Apply current brand and visual guidelines consistently across marketing assets, advertising, and partner-facing materials.
Sales Enablement & Reporting
- Apply and reinforce the company's client-conversation framework among showroom staff.
- Provide the Founder with a weekly pipeline and receivables report, broken down by lead source and conversion stage.
- Manage the commercial workflow for the lighting audit service, from initial quotation through to post-audit follow-up and order conversion.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 2–5 years of experience in B2B/trade sales or growth marketing, ideally within a considered-purchase category such as furniture, real estate, design, or premium retail.
- Demonstrated experience managing a CRM-based pipeline with accountability for conversion metrics.
- Working experience with paid social advertising (Meta), with an emphasis on attribution and return on ad spend rather than reach alone.
- Comfortable operating both on the showroom floor with walk-in and trade clients, and independently on reporting and campaign execution.
- A consultative, non-transactional communication style consistent with a premium, design-led brand.
SUCCESS MEASURES (FIRST 90 DAYS)
- Demonstrable reduction in aged accounts receivable from trade accounts, with a repeatable follow-up cadence in place.
- All enquiry sources (walk-in, trade, paid, organic) logged and tracked through to outcome in the CRM.
- Through out-reach at least 20 new active designer or architect partner account onboarded.
- A consistent, sustained content publishing cadence across marketing channels.
