Job Description – Business Head
Experience :
10+ years in the construction, infrastructure, real estate, EPC, or related industry, with significant experience in a senior business leadership role.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven to lead the overall business growth, project execution, profitability, and strategic development of the construction business. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing business strategies, driving revenue and margins, building client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, overseeing major projects, and ensuring operational excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Strategy & Growth
· Develop and implement the company's business strategy in line with overall organizational objectives.
· Drive revenue growth, profitability, market share, and long-term business expansion.
· Identify new markets, geographies, clients, and business opportunities.
· Develop annual business plans, budgets, and growth targets.
· Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
2. Business Development
· Lead business development and strategic sales activities for construction projects.
· Build and maintain relationships with key clients, consultants, architects, developers, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
· Identify and pursue large-value tenders, EPC contracts, infrastructure projects, and strategic partnerships.
· Oversee the complete tendering and bidding process, including commercial evaluation and negotiations.
· Develop strategic alliances and joint ventures where appropriate.
3. Project & Operations Oversight
· Provide leadership and strategic direction to project execution teams.
· Ensure projects are delivered within agreed cost, quality, scope, and timelines.
· Review project performance, resource requirements, risks, and profitability.
· Ensure effective coordination between engineering, procurement, contracts, finance, and project teams.
· Establish systems and processes to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
4. Financial & Commercial Management
· Own the business P&L and ensure achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
· Monitor project margins, cash flow, working capital, billing, collections, and cost controls.
· Review commercial terms, contracts, variations, claims, and negotiations.
· Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams to minimize financial and contractual risks.
5. Leadership & Team Management
· Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers and functional heads.
· Build a high-performance culture across business development and project operations.
· Define KPIs and performance objectives for key teams.
· Ensure appropriate manpower planning and succession development.
6. Client & Stakeholder Management
· Act as the senior point of contact for strategic clients and key stakeholders.
· Manage escalations and resolve critical commercial, operational, and contractual issues.
· Represent the organization in client meetings, industry forums, negotiations, and business discussions.
7. Risk, Compliance & Governance
· Ensure compliance with applicable construction laws, regulations, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.
· Identify and mitigate project, commercial, financial, and operational risks.
· Establish strong governance and reporting mechanisms across projects and business functions.

Pay: ₹70,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Medavakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
