A Retail Pharmacy Assistant is engaged with daily operations of managing a Medical Store. He process prescriptions, manage inventory, and handle billing. Operating as the frontline of the pharmacy, he provide customer service, answer inquiries about over-the-counter medications, and direct complex health-related questions to the Senior.
Prescription Processing & Dispensing
- Receive and process prescription orders from customers and healthcare providers.
- Under direct supervision, measure, count, package, and label medications accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient profiles and update relevant medical or insurance records in the pharmacy software.
Customer Service & Sales
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, both in-person and over the phone.
- Advise customers on general over-the-counter (OTC) products and refer all specific drug therapy, dosage, and health-related questions.
- Process sales transactions, operate cash registers, and handle billing or insurance claim data.
Inventory Management & Store Operations
- Monitor stock levels, unpack deliveries, and place orders for pharmaceutical supplies/distributors.
- Restock sales floor shelves and organize medication storage areas.
- Regularly check medication expiration dates and safely dispose of expired stock in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Attention to Detail: Critical for ensuring accuracy in labeling, counting dosages, and keeping patient records.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Friendly and professional demeanor, with the ability to handle distressed or waiting customers empathetically.
- Basic Pharmacology Knowledge: Understanding of common medications, medical terminology, and OTC products.
- Computer Proficiency: Ability to operate modern pharmacy software, billing systems, and inventory trackers
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
