The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, monitoring, and completing school-related projects within the approved timeline, budget, quality standards, and management expectations.
The role will coordinate with management, principals, architects, contractors, vendors, engineers, facility teams, and internal departments to ensure the successful completion of projects.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Project Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute school infrastructure and development projects from initiation to completion.
- Prepare project plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Develop detailed project schedules and ensure timely completion.
- Monitor project progress against approved plans and identify delays at an early stage.
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously across different school campuses.
- Ensure projects are completed within the approved scope, budget, and timeline.
B. School Infrastructure Projects
Manage and monitor projects such as:
- New school construction and expansion.
- Classroom construction and renovation.
- Laboratories, libraries, activity rooms, and administrative areas.
- Sports facilities and playground development.
- Hostels, dining facilities, and staff accommodation.
- Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and civil works.
- School furniture and classroom setup.
- CCTV, access control, networking, and other technology infrastructure.
- Landscaping, parking, campus beautification, and other development works.
C. Contractor & Vendor Management
- Identify, coordinate, and monitor contractors, suppliers, consultants, and vendors.
- Obtain and compare quotations in coordination with the management/procurement team.
- Monitor contractor performance and work quality.
- Ensure contractors follow approved specifications and project schedules.
- Coordinate site meetings and resolve execution-related issues.
- Verify completed work before recommending payments.
- Maintain proper documentation of contracts, quotations, work orders, and project records.
D. Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare project budgets and cost estimates.
- Track project expenditure against approved budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.
- Monitor variations, additional works, and change requests.
- Obtain appropriate management approvals for additional costs.
- Prepare project cost reports and financial updates.
E. Quality & Safety
- Ensure all project activities comply with approved specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections.
- Ensure proper safety practices are followed at project locations.
- Coordinate with facility and safety teams regarding fire safety, electrical safety, structural safety, and other requirements.
- Ensure projects are completed with proper testing, inspection, and handover documentation.
F. Coordination with School Management
- Work closely with the Principal, Administration, Facility Manager, Finance, IT, HR, and other departments.
- Understand the operational requirements of each campus before project execution.
- Minimize disruption to academic activities during construction or renovation.
- Provide regular project status reports to management.
- Escalate critical risks, delays, budget overruns, and quality issues immediately.
G. Project Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project files and documentation for every project.
- Prepare:
- Project proposals
- Project schedules
- BOQ and cost estimates
- Vendor comparison statements
- Work orders
- Project progress reports
- Site inspection reports
- Meeting minutes
- Risk registers
- Completion and handover reports
- Submit weekly and monthly project reports to management.
H. Project Closure
- Ensure all project works are completed as per approved specifications.
- Conduct final inspection and snag-list verification.
- Coordinate rectification of pending works.
- Obtain necessary completion and handover documents.
- Ensure proper handover to the concerned school/facility team.
- Maintain warranty, AMC, equipment, and vendor details for future reference.

4. Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
- PMP / PRINCE2 / relevant project management certification will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, BOQ, vendor management, and site execution.
5. Required Experience & SkillsExperience
- 5–8 years of project management experience.
- Experience in school, education, construction, infrastructure, facility development, or similar environments preferred.
- Experience handling multiple projects or multiple locations will be an advantage.
Technical Skills
