Position: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Physics (Ability to Teach Chemistry)

Position Overview
Gyan International School is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and student-focused PGT – Physics with the ability to teach Chemistry as required. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging lessons for senior secondary students (Classes XI–XII), foster scientific inquiry and critical thinking, prepare students for board and competitive examinations, and contribute to the school's commitment to academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Instruction
- Teach Physics to students of Classes XI and XII in accordance with the CBSE curriculum.
- Teach Chemistry to secondary or senior secondary classes, depending on the school's academic requirements.
- Prepare annual lesson plans, unit plans, and daily teaching schedules.
- Deliver interactive, concept-based lessons using practical demonstrations, simulations, and modern teaching methodologies.
- Integrate ICT tools, laboratory experiments, and real-world applications into classroom teaching.
2. Student Assessment & Academic Support
- Design and evaluate assignments, projects, practicals, quizzes, and examinations.
- Monitor student progress through continuous assessment and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and conduct remedial or enrichment classes.
- Prepare students for CBSE Board Examinations and competitive examinations such as JEE, NEET, CUET, and Olympiads, where applicable.
3. Laboratory Management
- Conduct Physics and Chemistry practical sessions safely and effectively.
- Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and safe handling of laboratory equipment and chemicals.
- Maintain laboratory records, inventories, and practical assessment documentation.
- Promote laboratory safety and adherence to safety protocols.
4. Classroom Management
- Create a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage scientific curiosity, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Foster active participation and collaborative learning among students.
- Maintain attendance, academic records, and student portfolios.
5. Curriculum Development
- Participate in curriculum planning and academic review meetings.
- Develop innovative teaching resources, worksheets, question banks, and learning materials.
- Stay updated with CBSE guidelines, NEP 2020 recommendations, and advancements in Physics and Chemistry education.
6. Parent & School Engagement
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and communicate students' academic progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to organize science exhibitions, educational trips, seminars, and STEM activities.
- Participate actively in school assemblies, functions, examinations, and co-curricular activities.
7. Professional Development
- Attend workshops, training programs, and professional development initiatives.
- Continuously enhance subject knowledge and pedagogical practices.
- Contribute to the school's culture of innovation and academic excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Physics from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution (Mandatory).
- Strong academic background in Chemistry, with the ability to teach Chemistry at the secondary or senior secondary level.
- CTET/TET qualification is desirable where applicable.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE-affiliated school.
- Experience teaching senior secondary Physics is essential.
- Experience teaching Chemistry as an additional subject will be preferred.
- Familiarity with CBSE Board Examination patterns and practical assessments.
