JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Sample Collection Executive
Department: Pathology Laboratory
Location: Shanti Pathology Lab (Kolhapur)
Reporting To:
Lab In-Charge
Job Purpose
The Sample Collection Executive is responsible for collecting blood and other prescribed laboratory samples from patients at hospitals, clinics, health camps, corporate sites, and home visits. The individual shall ensure accurate patient identification, proper sample handling, timely transportation to Shanti Pathology Lab, and effective coordination with laboratory staff, doctors, and patients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sample Collection
- Collect blood and other laboratory samples as per prescribed procedures.
- Visit hospitals, clinics, corporate organizations, and patient residences for sample collection.
- Ensure proper patient identification before sample collection.
- Follow aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during sample collection.
- Label and document samples accurately.
2. Sample Transportation
- Transport collected samples safely and promptly to Shanti Pathology Lab.
- Maintain required storage and transportation conditions for different sample types.
- Hand over samples along with requisition forms and patient details to the concerned Lab Technician.
3. Patient Information & Test Verification
- Collect and verify complete patient information, including:
- Clinical History
- Test Requirements
- Ensure all test requisition forms are complete and accurate.
- Communicate any special patient conditions or urgent requirements to laboratory personnel.
4. Report Delivery & Communication
- Deliver laboratory reports to concerned doctors, hospitals, clinics, and patients when required.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff regarding report status and urgent cases.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records and laboratory reports.
5. Laboratory Coordination
- Possess basic knowledge of pathology laboratory workflow and testing processes.
- Coordinate effectively with Lab Technicians, Pathologists, Reception Staff, and Administration.
- Assist in sample registration and documentation whenever required.
6. Record Maintenance
- Maintain daily records of:
- Sample Collections
- Home Visits
- Doctor Visits
- Sample Deliveries
- Report Deliveries
- Submit daily activity reports to the Lab In-Charge.
7. Quality & Compliance
- Follow all laboratory SOPs, NABH guidelines, and quality protocols.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biomedical waste generated during sample collection.
- Report any discrepancies, sample rejection, or transportation issues immediately.
Qualification
- Minimum 12th Pass (Science Preferred).
- Certification in Phlebotomy, DMLT, or Healthcare Services preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in sample collection, pathology laboratory, or healthcare field preferred.
Required Skills
- Good blood collection and patient handling skills.
- Knowledge of pathology sample collection procedures.
- Basic understanding of laboratory tests and sample requirements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel for sample collection and report delivery.
- Basic record-keeping and documentation skills.
Additional Requirements
- Two-wheeler and valid driving license preferred.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned service area.
- Ability to work during emergencies, camps, and special collection drives.

- Accuracy in patient identification and sample labeling.
- Timely collection and transportation of samples.
- Timely delivery of reports.
- Compliance with SOPs and NABH standards.
- Patient satisfaction and service quality.
- Proper maintenance of collection and delivery records
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
