About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Economics Teacher to teach students in Classes XI and XII under the ISC (Indian School Certificate) curriculum. The ideal candidate will have strong subject expertise, a passion for teaching, and the ability to prepare students for CISCE board examinations with a clear conceptual and analytical approach to economics.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging economics lessons in line with the ISC syllabus (Classes XI–XII)
- Cover both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, including Indian economic development, statistics for economics, and current economic issues
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, case studies, and assessments aligned with CISCE guidelines
- Prepare students for internal assessments, board practicals/projects, and final examinations
- Evaluate and grade assignments, tests, and examinations promptly and fairly
- Monitor individual student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents
- Incorporate real-world economic data, current affairs, and data interpretation exercises into teaching
- Guide students in project work as per CISCE project guidelines
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, and school events
- Maintain accurate academic records, mark sheets, and attendance
- Stay updated with CISCE curriculum changes, economic trends, and pedagogical best practices
- Mentor and support students for competitive exams or higher studies in economics/commerce, if applicable
Qualifications & Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Economics (M.A. Economics); a B.Ed. is mandatory
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level, preferably with ISC/CBSE boards
- Strong command over Micro and Macroeconomics, statistics, and Indian economic development topics
- Familiarity with CISCE examination pattern, marking schemes, and project/practical requirements
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using digital tools/smart classrooms for teaching
Preferred Skills
- Experience mentoring students for board toppers or competitive exams
- Knowledge of current economic policies and global economic trends
- Ability to integrate case studies and data-driven analysis into lessons
