Job Summary
We are looking for an Electrical Testing Engineer to perform testing, inspection, and evaluation of electrical products and systems. The candidate should have experience in electrical testing laboratories, cable manufacturing, transformer manufacturing, or third-party testing and certification laboratories. The role involves developing test scopes, conducting tests, analyzing results, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop testing scope, test plans, and test procedures based on customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Conduct electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing of cables, transformers, and other electrical products.
- Perform routine, type, acceptance, and special tests as per relevant IS, IEC, IEEE, and other applicable standards.
- Analyze test data and prepare detailed test reports.
- Ensure testing activities comply with quality management systems and laboratory procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment and instruments.
- Coordinate with customers, inspection agencies, and certification bodies regarding testing requirements.
- Investigate test failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of testing activities and laboratory documentation.
- Support audits, accreditation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of electrical testing principles and practices.
- Experience in testing of power cables, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of IS, IEC, IEEE, and related testing standards.
- Understanding of laboratory quality systems, preferably IS/ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
- Ability to develop test scopes and interpret technical specifications.
- Proficiency in preparing technical reports and test documentation.
- Good analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
