Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Placement Officer to lead our student placement activities. You will act as the bridge between our trained candidates and hiring companies — building corporate relationships, organising placement drives, and ensuring our students land the right opportunities. Prior experience in an IT training institute or ed-tech company is essential — you should already understand how tech hiring and student placements work.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with IT companies, startups, consultancies, and corporate HR teams for student placements
- Identify job openings matching our course verticals (Full Stack, Data Science, Software Testing, UI/UX, Flutter) and map suitable candidates
- Organise and coordinate campus drives, walk-in interviews, and virtual recruitment events
- Prepare students for interviews through mock interviews, resume reviews, aptitude preparation, and soft-skills guidance
- Maintain an updated placement database, track placement metrics, and report outcomes to management
- Follow up with recruiters and candidates through the complete hiring cycle until onboarding
- Represent SMEC Technologies at job fairs, industry meets, and networking events
- Collect feedback from employers to help align our training curriculum with industry needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Placement Officer / Talent Acquisition / HR Recruiter in an IT training institute, ed-tech company, or technology education organisation (mandatory)
- Strong network with IT recruiters and corporate HR contacts is highly preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English and Malayalam
- Strong negotiation, coordination, and follow-up skills
- Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace and job portals (Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed)
- Target-driven attitude with strong ownership of placement outcomes

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
