We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Accounts Teacher to teach Cambridge IGCSE Accounting and IB Diploma Programme (DP) Accounting/Business-related Financial Accounting Modules for Grades 11 and 12.
The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent teaching skills, and experience delivering international curricula. The teacher will be responsible for preparing students for academic excellence, board examinations, and higher education pathways in accounting, finance, business, and commerce.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective Accounting lessons aligned with IB and Cambridge IGCSE curriculum standards.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, and assessments.
- Teach key accounting topics including:
- Accounting Principles and Concepts
- Bookkeeping Fundamentals
- Journal Entries and Ledger Accounts
- Trial Balance
- Financial Statements
- Depreciation Accounting
- Bank Reconciliation
- Inventory Valuation
- Partnership Accounts
- Limited Company Accounts
- Cash Flow Statements
- Financial Analysis and Interpretation
- Budgeting and Cost Accounting
- Develop students' analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Utilize real-world business and financial examples to support learning.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Design and evaluate formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare students for IGCSE and IB examinations.
- Conduct tests, assignments, practical accounting exercises, and mock examinations.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic performance.
Student Development & Mentoring
- Guide students in developing financial literacy and analytical skills.
- Provide academic support and mentoring.
- Assist students in career exploration related to Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, and Commerce.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and academic concerns.
Curriculum Development
- Participate in curriculum planning, review, and enhancement initiatives.
- Develop innovative learning resources that align with international education standards.
- Stay updated on developments in accounting practices, financial reporting standards, and educational methodologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and academic initiatives.
School & Professional Responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings, academic reviews, training sessions, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Participate in school events, commerce clubs, finance competitions, and educational activities.
- Support institutional goals, policies, and safeguarding procedures.
- Contribute positively to the school's professional and collaborative culture.
QualificationsEssential Requirements
- Master's Degree in Commerce (M.Com), Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
- B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience teaching Accounting at the secondary or higher secondary level.
- Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE Accounting and/or international curricula.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Programme curriculum.
- International school teaching experience.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as:
- ACCA
- CA
- CPA
- CMA
- CIMA
- Experience with online learning platforms and digital teaching tools.
