Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Design Lead – Interior Lighting to drive the design and development of automotive interior lighting systems. The role involves leading component development activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams and suppliers, and ensuring products meet performance, quality, cost, and timing targets.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of automotive interior lighting components and systems.

Manage packaging, manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and design validation activities.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and global engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Review and approve design documentation, technical specifications, DFMEA, DVP&R, and release deliverables.

Support CAD model reviews, design releases, and engineering change activities.

Collaborate with simulation teams to achieve lighting performance, functional, and quality requirements.

Drive product development milestones, testing coordination, and issue resolution.

Ensure compliance with project timelines, technical standards, and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Automotive/Mechanical/Production Engg.
Essential skills:
- 6 to 8 years of experience in automotive interior lighting design and development.

Experience with ambient lighting, task lighting, overhead console lighting, or similar interior lighting systems.

Strong understanding of component and system-level product development.

Knowledge of lighting optics, light performance, and validation processes.

Proficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA or Siemens NX (UG).

Experience with PLM systems and engineering release processes.

Understanding of manufacturing processes, injection molding, and assembly feasibility.

Ability to work effectively with suppliers, global teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
