Job Title: Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager

Job Purpose
The QA/QC Manager oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management systems for intermediate chemical manufacturing. This role ensures all raw materials, in-process reactions, and finished chemical intermediates comply with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control & Laboratory Management
- Analytical Testing: Oversee daily laboratory operations including chromatography (HPLC, GC), spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis), and wet chemistry analysis.
- Batch Release: Review batch production records, analytical data, and certificate of analysis (CoA) documents to approve or reject chemical lots.
- Specification Management: Establish, update, and enforce strict technical specifications for raw materials, intermediates, and final products.
- Equipment Calibration: Manage the calibration, maintenance, and validation schedules for all laboratory analytical instruments.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- QMS Enforcement: Maintain and improve the site Quality Management System in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and applicable chemical regulations (such as REACH or OSHA PSM, GMP).
- Audit Leadership: Lead internal quality audits and serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory inspections and customer audits.
- CAPA Management: Direct the Corrective and Preventive Action system to investigate out-of-specification results, determine root causes, and execute fixes.
- Change Control: Evaluate and approve change control requests regarding manufacturing processes, raw material sourcing, and lab methodologies.
Team Leadership & Supplier Management
- Staff Supervision: Supervise, train, and evaluate laboratory technicians, QA specialists, and shift chemists.
- Vendor Qualification: Audit and qualify raw material suppliers and third-party testing laboratories.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner with Production and R&D teams to optimize chemical yields and minimize process variance using Six Sigma tools.
Experience & Qualifications
Education
- Academic Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline.
Professional Experience
- Total Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of industrial experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Leadership Experience: At least 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a QA/QC department.
- Sector Expertise: Proven background in intermediate chemicals, fine chemicals, specialty chemicals, or active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
Technical Skills & Certifications
- Analytical Techniques: Hands-on expertise with GC-MS, HPLC, wet chemical analysis, and physical property testing of liquids and powders.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of hazardous chemical handling, safety data sheets (SDS), GHS labeling, and environmental regulations.
- Quality Certifications: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is highly preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹900,000.00 per year
