Job Description – SAP IBP Support / Implementation Consultant (5–7 Years Experience)
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAP IBP Support / Implementation Consultant with 5–7 years of hands-on experience to support and enhance SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) solutions across planning modules. The role involves defect resolution, change request implementation, proactive job monitoring, and close collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure stable, high-performing planning processes aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end support and implementation for SAP IBP across planning modules (e.g., Demand, Supply, Inventory, Response & Supply, S&OP).
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve SAP IBP defects and incidents to ensure uninterrupted planning operations.
- Manage and deliver change requests, enhancements, and configuration updates based on evolving business requirements.
- Perform proactive monitoring of IBP jobs, batch processes, data integration flows, and background jobs to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Investigate job failures and performance issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Collaborate closely with business users and planners to understand issues, gather requirements, and translate them into effective IBP solutions.
- Configure and enhance IBP planning areas, key figures, planning operators, time profiles, and master data integration as required.
- Support data integration between SAP IBP and source systems (e.g., ECC/S/4HANA) using CPI-DS or relevant integration mechanisms.
- Perform unit testing, system integration testing (SIT), and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for enhancements and fixes.
- Prepare and maintain functional and technical documentation, including solution designs, configuration guides, and SOPs.
- Provide hypercare and post-go-live support, ensuring smooth adoption and continuous improvement of IBP solutions.
- Stay current with SAP IBP releases and new features, and assess their impact and applicability to business processes.
- Work with Basis, integration, and functional teams to coordinate deployments, transports, and production support activities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in SAP IBP support and/or implementation projects.
- Strong experience in defect resolution, change management, and production support for SAP IBP.
- Good functional understanding of one or more IBP modules (Demand, Supply, Inventory, Response & Supply, S&OP).
- Hands-on experience with job monitoring, troubleshooting batch jobs, and integration flows in IBP landscapes.
- Experience with IBP configuration (planning areas, key figures, planning operators, master data integration).
- Knowledge of IBP integration with SAP ECC/S/4HANA using CPI-DS or similar tools.
- Experience with testing (Unit, SIT, UAT) and production deployments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.
- Good communication skills and experience working directly with business users and planners.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to SAP IBP configuration framework and time-series planning concepts.
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for IBP dashboards and reporting.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
- SAP IBP certification(s).
