Job Title: Hardware Design Engineer (6+ Years Experience)
[Gujarat Region candidates preferred]
Job Summary: We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineer with 6+ years of experience in analog, digital, mixed-signal, and RF electronic system design for industrial applications. The role involves end-to-end hardware development including circuit design, PCB realization, system validation, and analysis of existing designs. The candidate should be capable of taking ownership from concept through validation, with a strong emphasis on circuit design, wireless performance, and system-level reliability for Real-Time Location System (RTLS) fixed infrastructure and ultra-low-power tracking devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Circuit & System Design
- Design and develop schematics for analog, digital, mixed-signal, and RF subsystems.
- Design and integrate RF front-end circuits for UWB (Ultra-Wideband) and BLE transceivers.
- Develop hardware architectures tailored for both battery-operated, ultra-low-power devices (mobile trackers) and continuously powered infrastructure (fixed receivers).
- Perform circuit analysis and simulation.
- Define system architecture, signal chain, and power tree (DCDC, LDO, sequencing).
- Perform component selection, derating, and tolerance analysis.
PCB Layout & Realization
- Translate schematics into multi-layer PCB layouts.
- Define stack-up, controlled impedance routing, and return paths.
- Design high-frequency RF trace routing, including coplanar waveguides, and ensure proper isolation for BLE/UWB coexistence.
- Review layouts for signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance.
- Work with vendors for DFM/DFT, fabrication stack-up, and impedance validation.
Analysis & Optimization
- Analyze existing hardware for circuit reconstruction and functional understanding.
- Identify components, extract BOM, and recreate schematics.
- Perform signal tracing and block-level analysis.
System Validation & Debug
- Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, and root cause analysis.
- Validate designs through lab measurements (oscilloscope, differential probes, etc.).
- Test, tune, and calibrate RF performance using Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) and Spectrum Analyzers.
- Perform UWB-specific calibrations (e.g., Antenna Delay calibration, TX power tuning) to ensure sub-meter ranging accuracy.
- Correlate simulation vs measured results.
- Support EVT/DVT validation and design iterations.
Required Skills:
- Strong fundamentals in analog, digital, and RF circuit design.
- Hands-on experience in system-level hardware design and validation.
- Proven experience designing with UWB ICs (e.g., Qorvo/Decawave DW3000 series, NXP Trimension) and BLE SoCs.
- Proficiency in RF impedance matching, antenna selection/tuning, and utilizing Smith Charts.
- Experience in power electronics (DCDC, LDO, PDN design) and power profiling for coin-cell/battery-operated devices.
- Working knowledge of multi-layer PCB layout and high-speed routing.
- Proficiency in EDA tools (Altium / OrCAD / KiCad).
- Strong debugging skills using oscilloscope, multimeter, logic analyzer, and RF test equipment.
- Experience in reverse engineering and circuit analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in industrial product design under harsh environments.
- Understanding of RTLS positioning methodologies (Two-Way Ranging, TDoA, AoA).
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and certification requirements, including:
- CE marking
- FCC and WPC (Wireless Planning & Coordination, India) RF regulations
- FiRa Consortium standards for UWB interoperability
- IEC standards (EMI/EMC, safety, insulation, creepage/clearance)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in hardware design.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
Application Question(s):
- What is your current CTC per year?
