Roles & Responsibilities of a Design Engineer
- Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD , SolidWorks & Master Cam
- Develop product designs, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings according to project requirements
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials), technical specifications, and design documentation
- Modify and improve existing designs based on testing, production, or customer feedback
- Coordinate with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure design feasibility
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines
- Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection
- Support prototype development and product testing activities
- Review and resolve technical issues related to fabrication and assembly
- Maintain revision control and proper documentation of all engineering drawings
- Participate in client discussions and provide technical design support when required
- Optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks & Master Cam
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes
- Understanding of sheet metal, machining, fabrication, or product design concepts
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in industrial/product/mechanical design
