We're seeking an energetic and skilled IB Physical Education Teacher to design and deliver a comprehensive PE program for Early Years and Primary Years Programme (PYP) students. You'll help children develop motor skills, fitness, sportsmanship, and a healthy relationship with their bodies while connecting movement to inquiry-based learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate PE lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework
- Introduce students to a variety of sports and physical activities (swimming, football, tennis, basketball, athletics, yoga, etc.)
- Foster skill development, teamwork, fair play, and physical confidence
- Connect physical education to transdisciplinary units and real-world concepts
- Assess student progress through observation, reflection, and skill development tracking
- Organize sports events, inter-class activities, and fitness challenges
- Promote health, wellness, and an active lifestyle
- Collaborate with homeroom teachers and the PYP team to support holistic learning
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all students
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field (required)
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience (IB PYP experience strongly preferred)
- Coaching experience in multiple sports (swimming, football, tennis, basketball, athletics, etc.)
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate physical activities
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Passion for working with young children and promoting fitness and well-being
- First Aid / CPR certification (preferred)
- IB certification or willingness to complete official IB training
