- Environmental Monitoring (EM): Conduct routine monitoring of air (active and passive), surfaces, and personnel in classified cleanrooms (Grades A to D) to identify potential contamination sources.
- Sterility and Endotoxin Testing: Perform critical tests like Sterility Testing (USP <71>) and Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET) to confirm the absence of viable microorganisms and pyrogens in finished injectable products.
- Water System Testing: Sample and analyze purified water and Water for Injection (WFI) for total microbial count and chemical parameters.
- Media and Culture Management: Prepare and sterilize culture media, perform Growth Promotion Tests (GPT), and maintain microbial cultures for laboratory use.
- In-Process & Raw Material Testing: Conduct Bioburden testing and Microbial Limit Tests (MLT) on raw materials and samples taken during different manufacturing stages.
- Validation Support: Assist in validation activities such as Media Fill (aseptic process simulation), cleaning validation, and equipment qualification
- Education: Typically requires an M.Sc. in Microbiology or Biotechnology.
- Compliance: Strict adherence to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practices) is mandatory.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate and calibrate equipment like autoclaves, incubators, LAF (Laminar Air Flow) benches, and sterility isolators
