Key Duties and Responsibilities
Trend & Market Research: Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to identify upcoming colors, fabrics, and styles.
Design & Conceptualization: Create initial design concepts and mood boards, then develop sketches by hand or via CAD software and graphic tools.Material Sourcing: Select textiles, trims, colors, and patterns, negotiating with suppliers and vendors.
Prototyping & Fit: Develop technical specifications, or tech packs, and work closely with pattern makers to evaluate prototype samples during fittings and make necessary adjustments.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with merchandising, production, and marketing teams to ensure that collections are cost-effective, meet brand standards, and are ready for retail or fashion shows.
Essential Skills and QualificationsArtistic & Creative Ability: A strong eye for color, texture, shape, and an understanding of proportions.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in pattern making, garment construction, draping, and industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CAD).
Communication & Negotiation: The ability to communicate fit specifications to factories and present concepts clearly to stakeholders.
Commercial Awareness: An understanding of budget constraints, cost sheets, and manufacturing processes.
Education: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in fashion design or a related field, alongside a robust portfolio highlighting creative work
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
