Key Responsibilities
- Execute the daily production plan as per the approved production schedule.
- Coordinate operations between forging, round, heat treatment, inspection, and material movement to ensure smooth workflow.
- Independently manage and supervise 25–30 production personnel during the night shift.
- Maximize machine utilization and manpower productivity while minimizing idle time.
- Ensure all production activities are carried out in accordance with Work Instructions (WI) and standard operating procedures.
- Verify material grade, heat number, size, and identification before processing.
- Allocate manpower based on production priorities and shift requirements.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, and adherence to company policies during the shift.
- Guide, motivate, and support operators and helpers to achieve production targets.
- Monitor hourly production and prepare accurate shift production reports.
- Track and update material movement status throughout the shift.
- Identify and communicate pending jobs for the next shift.
- Conduct a comprehensive shift handover with the incoming morning shift supervisor.
- Communicate production status, machine breakdowns, quality concerns, safety observations, and pending activities during handover.
- Ensure all production records, reports, and documentation are completed before the shift ends.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to resolve machine breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- Monitor product quality during production and coordinate with the Quality team to address any non-conformities.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards (5S).
- Take immediate corrective action in case of production, quality, or safety deviations.
- Ensure timely availability of materials, tools, and consumables required for uninterrupted production.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability to independently lead the night shift.
- Ability to manage 25–30 employees effectively.
- ITI or Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing or a related discipline.
- Willingness to work a fixed night shift (8:00 PM – 8:00 AM).
- Good knowledge of forging operations, heat treatment, inspection, and material handling.
- Ability to prepare production reports and maintain shift documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel/ERP) for reporting and production tracking.
- Understanding of quality systems, work instructions, safety practices, and 5S implementation.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Stores teams.
Pay: ₹20,306.45 - ₹34,138.19 per month
