Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to support the design and development of transmission line hardware products. The role involves preparing engineering drawings, 3D models, product development support, and coordination with production and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with technical requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Communication & Tender Study: Good communication skills required. Study upcoming tender Technical Specifications in depth. Ensure that technical drawings align precisely with project tender specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and contractual obligations.
2. CAD & 3D Modelling: Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD), SolidWorks, and 3D models is required for creating and reviewing engineering drawings.
3. Technical Review: Meticulous approach to reviewing dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications to ensure quality and accuracy.
4. Collaboration & Record Keeping: Collaborate with design teams and cost estimation teams; resolve discrepancies. Maintain updated records of drawing revisions and approvals.
5. Client & Consultant Support: Assist in responding to technical queries or clarifications from clients/consultants during the bidding process and order level stage.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 0–2 years of experience (Freshers can apply)
- Strong understanding of engineering drawing and drafting concepts
- Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD And SolidWorks preferred)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining, fabrication)
- Good analytical and learning ability
- Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to transmission line hardware / electrical utility industry
- Internship or project experience in mechanical design
- Knowledge of ISO standards and engineering documentation practices
- Good communication and teamwork skills
