Position: Primary Mathematics Teacher (Grades 3–5)
Location: EuroSchool Whitefield, Bengaluru
Reporting To: Primary Coordinator / Vice Principal / Principal
Position Summary
The Primary Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, competency-based Mathematics instruction to students of Grades 3 to 5. The teacher will create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, numeracy skills, problem-solving abilities, and a lifelong love for Mathematics while supporting the holistic development of every child.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Planning & Delivery
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and EuroSchool's academic framework.
- Develop lesson plans that encourage inquiry, conceptual understanding, experiential learning, and critical thinking.
- Use activity-based, hands-on, and technology-enabled teaching strategies to make Mathematics meaningful and enjoyable.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Student Learning & Assessment
- Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Design worksheets, projects, quizzes, and competency-based assessments.
- Analyse assessment data and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate academic records and timely documentation.
Classroom Management
- Create a safe, positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Foster discipline through positive reinforcement and restorative practices.
- Promote collaboration, creativity, communication, and problem-solving among students.
Student Development
- Identify students requiring academic support or enrichment.
- Encourage participation in Mathematics-related competitions, Olympiads, and enrichment programmes.
- Build confidence, curiosity, and independent learning habits.
Parent Engagement
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and development.
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), orientations, and academic review meetings.
- Address parent concerns professionally and proactively.
Collaboration & School Responsibilities
- Collaborate with fellow teachers in curriculum planning and interdisciplinary learning.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development programmes, training sessions, and school events.
- Contribute to school initiatives, celebrations, assemblies, field trips, and co-curricular activities.
- Undertake class teacher responsibilities, if assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics or a relevant discipline.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) – Mandatory.
- Master's Degree in Mathematics or Education is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in Primary Grades (Grades 3–5).
- Experience in a CBSE school is preferred.
- Experience in competency-based and experiential learning practices will be an added advantage.
