Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Staff Nurse for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of experience in critical neonatal and pediatric care, with strong clinical knowledge, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill neonates and pediatric patients.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs and promptly identify and report changes in clinical condition.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist in emergency procedures, resuscitation, intubation, and other critical care interventions.
- Operate and monitor ICU equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, CPAP, and patient monitoring systems.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and nursing documentation.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Coordinate with pediatricians, neonatologists, intensivists, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Educate and support parents and caregivers regarding patient care and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in continuous professional development, training programs, and departmental quality initiatives.
Required Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge of NICU/PICU protocols and critical care nursing.
- Proficiency in neonatal and pediatric emergency management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced critical care environment.
- Strong observation, assessment, and decision-making skills.
- Team-oriented with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, or NRP will be an added advantage.
- Experience handling ventilators and other critical care equipment is preferred.
