Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Shop Floor Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations, production activities, manpower, quality, and safety on the shop floor. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills and hands-on experience in managing manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise day-to-day shop floor and production operations.
- Plan and monitor production schedules to achieve targets within deadlines.
- Allocate manpower and ensure optimum utilization of resources.
- Monitor production processes, productivity, and machine performance.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality, stores, and other departments.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and production procedures.
- Monitor raw material availability and minimize production downtime.
- Identify production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain proper production records, reports, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, 5S, and workplace standards.
- Train, guide, and motivate shop floor employees.
- Monitor wastage, rejection, and process efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ensure timely completion of production targets while maintaining quality and safety.
Requirements
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing/production operations preferred.
- Experience in shop floor and manpower management.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and manufacturing practices.
- Good understanding of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and safety practices.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and production reporting.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
