We are looking for a skilled and responsible Stranding/Cabling/RBD/Laying/Armoring Operator to operate and monitor stranding and cabling machines used in the manufacturing of electrical cables and conductors. The candidate will be responsible for machine setup, material loading, production, quality checks, troubleshooting, and maintaining production records.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate stranding and cabling machines as per production requirements.
- Load wires, bobbins, reels and other required materials correctly into the machine.
- Set machine parameters such as lay length, speed, tension and direction of twist as per production specifications.
- Perform machine setup, changeover and threading activities.
- Monitor machine operation continuously during production.
- Check the stranded conductor/cable for size, appearance, lay, tension and other specified parameters.
- Conduct regular in-process quality checks using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Immediately report wire breaks, abnormal machine sounds, quality issues or other abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Maintain production output as per the daily production plan.
- Minimize material wastage, rejection and machine downtime.
- Remove finished reels/drums and ensure proper identification and tagging.
- Maintain production sheets, machine logbooks and other required records.
- Carry out routine cleaning, lubrication and basic maintenance of the machine.
- Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements and SOPs.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards around the machine.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance and Production teams for smooth operations.
- Perform other production-related duties assigned by the supervisor/management.
Required Qualification
- ITI / Diploma / 10th / 12th preferred.
- Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or relevant trade will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of industrial machinery and measuring instruments.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in cable, conductor, wire, electrical or similar manufacturing industry preferred.
- Candidates with experience in stranding, cabling, bunching or conductor manufacturing will be preferred.
- Freshers with relevant ITI qualification and willingness to learn may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of stranding/cabling machine operation.
- Basic understanding of electrical cable/conductor manufacturing.
- Ability to read production instructions and specifications.
- Knowledge of basic measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer and measuring tape.
- Good observation and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in shifts.
- Teamwork and discipline.
- Strong focus on Safety, Quality and Production.
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
