Fire Safety Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Fire & Safety Acts, Rules, NBC, and local Fire Department regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of fire protection systems including extinguishers, hydrants, sprinklers, smoke detectors, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and fire pumps.
- Coordinate periodic testing, servicing, and maintenance of all firefighting equipment.
- Ensure fire exits, escape routes, staircases, and assembly points remain unobstructed and properly identified.
- Maintain updated fire evacuation plans for all buildings.
Safety Compliance
- Develop and implement workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments for all departments.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate unsafe conditions.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Monitor contractor safety during maintenance and construction activities.
Emergency Preparedness
- Prepare and update emergency response and disaster management plans.
- Organize mock fire drills and evacuation exercises as per statutory requirements.
- Train Emergency Response Teams (ERT) and Fire Wardens.
- Coordinate with local Fire & Rescue Services, Police, and Emergency Medical Services during emergencies.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct induction training on fire and workplace safety for new employees.
- Organize periodic awareness sessions on fire prevention, electrical safety, emergency evacuation, first aid, and safe work practices.
- Display safety instructions, emergency contact information, and awareness posters across the campus.
Incident Investigation
- Investigate fire incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
- Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain incident records and prepare investigation reports.
Documentation & Statutory Compliance
- Maintain statutory registers, inspection records, maintenance logs, and safety documentation.
- Coordinate renewal of Fire NOC and other statutory safety approvals.
- Liaise with Fire Department, Electrical Inspectorate, Pollution Control Board, and other regulatory authorities.
- Prepare monthly safety reports and compliance dashboards.
Equipment & Asset Management
- Maintain inventory of firefighting equipment and safety materials.
- Ensure adequate stock of extinguishers, PPE, first aid supplies, and emergency equipment.
- Verify AMC schedules and vendor performance for safety systems.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend safety improvements based on audits and inspections.
- Promote a positive safety culture through regular campaigns and awareness initiatives.
- Benchmark organizational safety practices against industry standards.
