The Engineer / Senior Engineer will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and implementing reinforcement works and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) at project sites. The role involves coordinating with tower execution teams to ensure accurate reinforcement detailing, proper placement of steel, and timely execution of reinforcement activities as per structural drawings and project schedules.
The position will report to the Manager – Rebar / BBS Execution (Rebar Incharge) and will support efficient reinforcement operations across the project.
Prepare Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for structural elements such as slabs, beams, columns, shear walls, and foundations.
Study and interpret structural drawings and reinforcement detailing.
Coordinate reinforcement planning with formwork and concreting schedules.
Monitor cutting, bending, and placement of reinforcement bars at site.
Ensure reinforcement works are executed as per approved drawings, BBS, and project specifications.
Supervise reinforcement installation before formwork closing and concreting operations.
Track steel consumption against BBS quantities.
Monitor steel wastage and ensure efficient material utilization.
Assist in preparation of steel reconciliation statements.
Coordinate with Tower Incharges, Civil Execution Engineers, and Formwork Teams to ensure proper sequencing of reinforcement works.
Provide technical guidance to rebar supervisors and labour teams regarding reinforcement placement and detailing.
Ensure reinforcement installation meets quality standards and structural requirements.
Verify bar spacing, cover blocks, lap lengths, anchorage, and reinforcement alignment before concreting.
Assist in inspection and approval of reinforcement works.
Maintain records of BBS, steel consumption reports, and reinforcement progress.
Prepare daily and weekly progress reports related to reinforcement works.
Support planning and billing teams with reinforcement quantity data.
Strong knowledge of reinforcement detailing and Bar Bending Schedule preparation
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and reinforcement layouts
Knowledge of steel quantity estimation and reconciliation
Understanding of reinforcement works in high-rise RCC construction
Proficiency in MS Excel and AutoCAD
Strong analytical ability in steel consumption monitoring
Good coordination with execution and formwork teams
Attention to detail in reinforcement placement and quality checks
Ability to work in fast-paced high-rise construction environments
