Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities (All Levels)
- Design, develop, and implement BPM applications using the Appian platform (18.x/19.x/20.x/21.x/22.x/Latest).
- Work on Appian objects: Records, SAIL interfaces, Process Models, Rules, CDTs, Web APIs, Sites & Portals.
- Participate in discussions to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Build integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, RDBMS, and third-party systems.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning of Appian applications.
- Ensure adherence to Appian best practices and coding standards.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Mid-Level (4–7 Years)
- Develop medium to complex modules with minimal supervision.
- Work with Business Analysts and QA teams during development cycles.
- Support deployments and production issue resolution.
- Participate in code reviews and quality checks.
Senior/Lead Level (8–14 Years)
- Lead end‑to‑end design and architecture for Appian solutions.
- Drive technical design sessions, estimations, and roadmap planning.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers.
- Optimize applications for scalability and performance.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects and solution owners.
- Own delivery timelines, quality, and technical governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 4–14 years overall IT experience with 3+ years of strong Appian development experience (as applicable by level).
- Hands-on experience with:
- SAIL UI Design
- Process Modeler
- CDTs, Data stores
- Appian Records
- Appian Sites & Portals
- Web APIs
- Appian Plug-ins
- Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
- Experience in Agile / Scrum methodologies.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred / Good-to-Have
- Appian Certifications:
- Appian Certified Associate Developer
- Appian Certified Senior Developer
- Appian Lead Developer Certification
- Experience with Appian RPA, Appian Cloud DevOps, Sites & Portals.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools: Jenkins, Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines.
- Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of BPMN and workflow design patterns.
