We specialize in niche applications such as Ethylene Oxide (EO) based derivatives, specialty surfactants, antioxidants, and THEIC for global and domestic markets.Position SummaryThe Purchase Executive – OPEX Engineering will lead the operational procurement, sourcing, and contract finalization of engineering spares, consumables, plant maintenance equipment, and dedicated technical manpower. The role focuses heavily on maintaining plant uptime, optimizing Operational Expenditure (OPEX) costs, and establishing robust Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs).

Candidates coming from manufacturing setups outside these specific domains will not be considered.Core Responsibilities & Technical Mandate1. Engineering Material Procurement (Major Focus)
- Piping & Flow Infrastructure: Focus majorly on sourcing specialized plant Piping Materials, including high-grade Stainless Steel (SS), Carbon Steel (CS), Alloy Steel pipes, fittings, flanges, and gaskets suitable for corrosive chemical processing lines.
- Rotary & Static Equipment Spares: End-to-end procurement of Motors, Pumps (Centrifugal, Monoblock, Vacuum, Dosing), Dryers, and heavy-duty industrial Gearboxes.
- Flow Control & Process Components: Source and manage inventories of high-performance Ball Valves (manual/actuated), industrial Filters, and Steam Traps.
- Fasteners & Hardware: Efficiently handle bulk inventory orders for standard and custom engineering consumables, including Nut-bolts, anchors, and mechanical seals.
2. ARC & Manpower Contract Finalization
- Manpower Rate Contracts: Source, evaluate, and finalize Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs) with Manpower Service Providers for plant maintenance, shutdown engineering services, fabrication work, and specialized technical labor.
- Service Vendor Onboarding: Negotiate Service Level Agreements (SLAs), compliance norms, insurance parameters, and safety regulations for third-party contractor manpower.
3. Vendor Management & Strategic Sourcing
- Leverage and bring in an active, reliable vendor base familiar with the quality standards of the Chemical, Agro, Petro, Oil & Gas, and Polymer domains.
- Develop a cost-effective regional vendor network around Maharashtra (Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Navi Mumbai) to cater to plant requirements quickly.
- Conduct performance evaluations of engineering vendors based on lead time, quality compliance, and price stability.
4. Techno-Commercial Negotiations & Compliance
- Float RFQs (Request for Quotations), prepare detailed comparative statements (Techno-Commercial Bid Comparisons), and finalize the best landing cost.
- Close loop engineering purchases by coordinating cross-functionally with Project Engineering, Maintenance (Mechanical/Electrical), and Plant Stores teams.
- Ensure absolute adherence to commercial terms, taxation rules (GST, custom duties), and standard operating procedures (SOP) of a listed public limited organization.
Required Candidate ProfileEducation & Technical Knowledge:
- Degree: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Chemical Engineering is highly preferred. Alternately, a generic graduate degree paired with a Post Graduate Diploma in Material Management / Supply Chain Management.
- Sound technical understanding of engineering drawings, materials of construction (MOC like SS316, SS304, Teflon lining), and basic equipment metrics (HP, RPM, pressure ratings).
Experience:
- 3 to 6 years of hardcore engineering procurement experience (OPEX/MRO spares) specifically within a Chemical, Agro, Petro, Oil & Gas, or Polymer plant layout.
Software & Soft Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP Systems (SAP MM, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) for generating Purchase Orders (PO) and tracking Material Requests (Indent).
- Excellent command over Microsoft Excel for complex cost breakdowns and comparative statements.
- Strong negotiation skills and local language fluency (Marathi/Hindi) for effective vendor interaction.
