Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor with 3–4 years of experience in fabrication and sheet metal manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge of Aluminium, GI, SS (Stainless Steel), and MS (Mild Steel) fabrication and experience operating and supervising various sheet metal manufacturing machines. The candidate will be responsible for planning production activities, coordinating with the stores department, ensuring quality standards, and delivering production targets safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily production activities and ensure production targets are achieved.
- Plan and allocate work to production operators based on the production schedule.
- Raise material requisitions and coordinate with the Stores department for timely material issuance.
- Distribute materials to the production team as per job requirements.
- Monitor fabrication processes involving Aluminium, GI, SS, and MS sheet metal.
- Supervise the operation of machines such as:
- Laser Cutting Machine
- Shearing Machine
- Folding/Bending Machine
- Power Press Machine
- Press Tools and Dies
- Ensure machines are operated safely and efficiently.
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections before forwarding finished products.
- Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Maintain daily production reports, machine utilization records, and material consumption reports.
- Minimize production delays, wastage, and rework through effective supervision.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, 5S practices, and company policies.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager and other departments to resolve production-related issues.
- Monitor manpower productivity and maintain discipline on the shop floor.
- Train and guide operators on standard operating procedures and quality requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Aluminium, GI, SS, and MS fabrication.
- Hands-on experience with Laser Cutting, Shearing, Folding/Bending, Power Press, and Press Tools & Dies.
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and production work orders.
- Good understanding of production planning and material management.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection methods.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) for preparing production reports and maintaining records.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Qualification
- BE (Mechanical) or equivalent qualification.
- Certification in fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing is an added advantage.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- 3–4 years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a fabrication or sheet metal manufacturing industry.
- Experience in handling shop floor manpower and production planning.
- Good coordination skills with Stores, Quality, and Production teams.
- Strong focus on quality, productivity, and workplace safety.
