Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Sales Support Executive / Backend Operations professional with strong expertise in Freight Forwarding, preferably in Ocean Freight operations. The candidate will act as a key support function to the Sales Team by handling rate negotiations, customer coordination, shipment tracking, and internal operational support. The role requires excellent communication skills, coordination abilities, and strong relationships with carriers, NVOCCs, and logistics partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide backend operational and coordination support to the Sales Team.
- Handle freight rate negotiations with carriers and NVOCCs for Ocean & Sea Freight shipments.
- Coordinate with customers for follow-ups, shipment updates, and service-related communication.
- Work closely with Operations, Documentation, and Accounts teams for smooth shipment execution and invoicing processes.
- Support the Sales Team in client handling, customer retention, and business conversion activities.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with local carriers, transporters, CHAs, and other logistics vendors.
- Handle agent-nominated import and export shipments through WCA/GAL network coordination with the Global Desk.
- Update and maintain daily shipment tracking sheets and provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Promote and develop business opportunities through international network partners such as WCA and GAL.
- Monitor shipments from origin to destination and ensure timely coordination with all concerned parties.
- Independently communicate with customers, carriers, agents, and vendors as required by management or sales personnel.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4–10 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, preferably in Ocean Freight operations.
- Good knowledge of shipping documentation, logistics coordination, and freight operations.
- Strong negotiation and customer handling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate across departments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and the local state language is mandatory.
- Strong networking skills with carriers, NVOCCs, and logistics partners preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and shipment tracking/reporting tools.
