The Video Editor is responsible for assembling raw footage, motion graphics, voiceover, and design assets into polished, highquality learning videos.
The role demands strong visual judgement, technical precision, and the ability to work within structured instructional and storyboard guidelines.
The editor collaborates closely with Instructional Designers, Graphic Designers, Animators, Sound Engineers, and QA Specialists.
Key Responsibilities
∙Footage Assembly — Import, organise, and manage raw footage, design assets, and audio files.
∙Timeline Editing — Build clean, logical timelines aligned with storyboard flow and learning objectives.
∙Motion Integration — Add transitions, lower thirds, overlays, and simple motion graphics as required.
∙Audio Sync — Sync voiceover, background music, and sound effects with visuals.
∙Visual Consistency — Maintain brand guidelines, colour schemes, typography, and visual tone.
∙Quality Enhancement — Apply colour correction, noise reduction, stabilisation, and other enhancements.
∙Versioning & Revisions — Implement client and internal feedback with accuracy and speed.
∙Export & Delivery Export final videos in required formats, resolutions, and compression standards.
∙CrossTeam Collaboration Work with IDs, GDs, animators, and QA to ensure smooth production.
∙AIEnabled Editing Use AI tools for rough cuts, noise cleanup, transcription, and rapid editing support.
Required Skills & Competencies
∙Editing Software Mastery Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
∙Motion Graphics Basics Ability to work with After Effects or similar tools.
∙Sound Editing — Cleanup, levelling, mixing, and syncing.
∙Visual Storytelling — Ability to translate storyboards into smooth, engaging sequences.
∙Attention to Detail — Strong focus on accuracy, timing, and consistency.
∙Technical Awareness — Understanding of codecs, formats, frame rates, and compression.
∙Project Discipline — Ability to manage multiple timelines and deliverables.
∙AI Literacy — Familiarity with AIassisted editing workflows.
Qualifications
- ∙Diploma or degree in Film Editing, Multimedia, Communication, or related fields. ∙
- 2–5 years of experience in video editing, preferably in eLearning or digital content production.
- ∙Experience working with structured storyboards and instructional content is a plus.
