About the Role:
Provides configuration support and resilience assurance for the LAN/WAN, firewall and load-balancer estate underpinning the BCC platform, including firmware/microcode patching and network topology documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Switch/router/firewall/load-balancer configuration support
- Resilience and failover testing
- Firmware/microcode/ePack patching
- Network topology documentation and change support
Required Skills:
- Cisco routing and switching configuration support
- Firewall administration and rule audit support
- Load-balancer configuration (e.g., F5 or equivalent ADC platforms)
- Network resilience and failover testing
- Firmware/microcode/ePack patch coordination
Certifications:
Mandatory
- CCNA (minimum) with demonstrable CCNP-level working knowledge.
Preferred / Advantageous
- CCNP
- F5 Certified (or equivalent load-balancer vendor certification)
- Firewall vendor certification
Soft Skills & Attributes:
- Disciplined change-window execution for network changes
- Clear documentation of topology and configuration state
- Calm escalation handling for network-related major incidents
