About the Role
NB Entrepreneurs is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer with a Mechanical Engineering background to manage the procurement of mechanical equipment, raw materials, components, and industrial supplies. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement within the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or EPC industries and possess strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure mechanical equipment, spare parts, raw materials, consumables, and engineering items required for projects and operations.
- Source materials and equipment for pharmaceutical plants, manufacturing facilities, and engineering projects while ensuring compliance with technical and quality requirements.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors to achieve cost-effective and timely procurement.
- Obtain quotations, perform comparative analysis, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and issue purchase orders.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, maintenance, quality, and project teams to understand procurement requirements.
- Ensure purchased materials comply with technical specifications, industry standards, and project timelines.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and contract compliance.
- Maintain procurement documentation, purchase records, vendor databases, and contracts.
- Support inventory planning by coordinating with the stores department to maintain optimum stock levels.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and commercial disputes.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, budgeting support, and purchase forecasts.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and equipment datasheets.
- Experience in procurement for pharmaceutical plants, manufacturing units, engineering, fabrication, or industrial projects.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor development, and contract management skills.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and cost-optimization abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP, or similar procurement software.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory).
- 3–8 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, EPC, or industrial sectors is preferred.
- Proven experience in sourcing mechanical equipment, plant utilities, spare parts, piping materials, valves, pumps, HVAC systems, process equipment, or industrial consumables.
- Knowledge of vendor development, inventory management, procurement planning, and commercial negotiations.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
